Grace Mayer, a staff writer for the Kansas City Business Journal, reported on Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center’s new pediatric wing in Kansas City on Dec. 16, 2025.

The report highlights a $23.5 million, 30,000-square-foot expansion at 825 Euclid Ave. The new space includes 40 pediatric rooms and medical, dental and behavioral health services, with capacity to serve 4,500 additional children each year.

CEO Bob Theis also told the Business Journal that some families delayed routine care during COVID-19, including vaccines and dental checkups. The report notes the expansion increases pediatric rooms from 12 to 40 and includes the Women, Infants and Children nutrition program.
